Infatuation By Intrigue

Intrigue is a powerful force that captures our attention and imagination, drawing us in with its mysterious allure. It’s the feeling of excitement and curiosity that comes from the unknown, the unexpected, and the enigmatic. Whether it’s a thrilling mystery novel, an intriguing movie plot, or a real-life scandal, intrigue has the power to captivate…

Kicking Leaves

Kicking Leaves

Kicking leaves and watching them float back down, the last nostalgic warmth of my childhood autumn. Dancing flames color me in orange corduroy, all the while herbaceous scents of sage and pumpkin cools my mind and warms my soul. October shows her admiration of nature’s true beauty by leading symphonies, all the while humming alleluias…

In Flux

By Paula S. Robin We are the same person from childhood to death but always in flux. I’m always a little different after deeply moving experiences in this thing called life. I don’t see a change from year to year, yet glancing back through decade after decade, I see what the ebbs and tides have…

Hot Tamper

By Paula S. Robin My friends call me Temper. You can call me Bad, for short. No, not badass, hush now. People don’t know my cover. They haven’t figured it out. Watch yourself, I’ll blow it up, and you’ll never know where I came from. Don’t take that attitude with me. I’ll shut down the…

Little Persuasive Gloom

By Paula S. Robin Hello, Gloom, my old friend, where have you been? You just flew in from out of the blue? I wasn’t expecting you. Don’t worry; I prepared a place for you. I gotta say, crash landing straight through my heart, this is an unexpected jolt of pain, but welcomed. Pull up a…

Midge and Mudge Curmudgenonly

Midge and Mudge Curmudgenonly

By Paula S. Robin Half Past Later Curmudgeonly was a hostile and manipulative character. I think it’s fair to say it’s never pleasant to be around him. He was hard-wired to avoid the emotions, not mindfully embrace them. Curmudgeonly’s feelings were extreme and quick and moved on swiftly, attaching to all those around him. To…

Shot of Reign Rain

By Paula S. Robin Give me a second while I climb back up to your perfection. I feel so small and insignificant on your shoulders. Another minute and I will reflect your pure greatness. Mr. Important, please, let me properly introduce you to yourself, Mr. Impotent. It’s all about the timing and a few letters….

Sake of the Clown

Sake of the Clown

By Paula S. Robin Welcome to her rodeo. I didn’t sign up for this role. I’m no one’s clown. Why am I still here? She is mounted high on her horse, both center-stage. Smoking cigarettes and talking over coffee, I step inside her talent for splitting people and dividing souls. There were locks on all…

The Self-Tango

The Self-Tango

By Paula S. Robin The pendulum of self-sabotage swings in many directions, my friends, duck.  Duck, Duck, Goose is a game intended for children. Why would anyone think that walking around in circles until you want to slap someone in the head, then run for your dear life, is a child’s game? Let this be a…

You Can Go Your Way, and I Will Go Mine

You Can Go Your Way, and I Will Go Mine

By Paula S. Robin I love the promise each new day brings. Creativity was my wingman. Intrigue was my ride or die. Mystery was my imaginary friend. There was a new pathway being made before my very eyes, from my backdoor to the back forty, and I was ready to take flight. The new path…

Pretty emotional piece from Mr. Paul Blase here. I really enjoyed it. Reminded me of that scene from John Q. "Not goodbye, Son. See you later."

You cannot believe in free will and God simultaneously. Here is the final installment of “The Mind From a Dark Room:”
There is some utility in the first two parts of the series, but if you relate to them, please, immediately hit reverse..
Most of this isn't real. I just think it's worth exploring the frame of mind people have at their lowest. This is me trying to tap into a time when that was the case. Enjoy??
