What’s Your Story, Bro (or WYSB) has become something completely different from what I originally intended it to be. It happens like that, you know? What started out as something like a blog for recovering alcoholics and addicts, WYSB has become more of a psychology or philosophy-based blog, with posts containing short-essays, articles, columns, or even full-blown rants.
However, there are remnants of the original idea. The theoretical platform was one where anybody and everybody could write for the site. That idea is still very much in play. What I want WYSB to be is a platform where people can release their inner-most thoughts, opinions, and beliefs without fear of judgment or reprisal. If one was to send me something they wrote, I would post it on the site. They could attach their name to it, or could remain anonymous.
The two inevitabilities in life, unfortunately, are tragedy and suffering. That sounds a bit morbid, or even cringe, but it is the truth nonetheless. Yes, perhaps the purpose of life is to do our best to contend with those two inevitabilities and there are ways to do that, but happiness and joy are not guarantees. We are all wrestling with life every single day, and although each individual might be unique in their own right, we are very much the same. You are not alone in this.
I am looking to hire writers for the site/blog. If you are interested, email josh@wysb.me.
